Your bug out bag will be your most foremost item during an emergency. It will have everything you need to support life for 72 hours. When production your bug out bag contents you need to remember the survival hierarchy. The survival hierarchy starts with shelter, next is water, and lastly is food. during times of crisis securing these uncomplicated items can be extremely difficult. Local stores and grocery chains only have three days worth of food if examine is normal. during times of crisis all the food in a store will be gone in hours. If you are forced to leave your home (because of weather, natural disaster, or violence) your bug out bag needs to get you to your bug out location (Bol) or to a friend's place.
Shelter is the most foremost item in a survival setting. What this means is keeping yourself dry if it's raining, cool if it's hot, and warm if it's cold. You can survive for colse to three hours without protection in an ultimate weather condition. Many times the clothes you wear on your back or the vehicle you drive will keep you alive if you're prepared. If your forced from your vehicle your Bob will be there to keep you dry when you need it.
Safe drinking water is something we take for granted. When culinary water doesn't come from the tap anymore securing a safe water supply will be your priority. Many experts advise drinking at least four liters of water a day. If you are in a hot environment you will need up to eight liters a day. If you plan on carrying all you water be ready to carry 8.35 lbs per gallon. Two gallons of water is 16.7 pounds of water. With everything else in your bag this will be your heaviest item by far.
Food will be a high-priced commodity when it becomes scarce. One day, we will go to war for rice. If your bug out location is a distance away (more than 10 miles) you will need a lot of fat to get there. Plan on eating 4,000-5,000 fat a day if you're hiking with a heavy pack. You will be burning huge amounts of vigor just by piquant around.

Industrial Trash Bag - These can be used as a fast protection and many other uses.
Poncho - A good poncho can be turned into a tent and is very sufficient at keeping you dry while you move.
Sleeping Bag - Find a bag that is rated for the season. Remember that a wet bag is useless so add a Gortex bivy to your bag for added protection.
Bic Lighter/Waterproof Matches - Some people want to go all crazy with magnesium strikers and other fire gadgets but the truth is a bic lighter is hard to beat. Get one or two.
Water
Stainless steel canteen (for keeping and boiling water)
Filter straw for fast drinking when water comes available.
Water purification tablets - These generally take four hours to work. The straw will work in the short run but you'll want these for larger batches of water.
Food
Emergency Rations are high calorie, dense food source. Rations have an extended shelf life (up to five years) and don't taste all that bad (they taste like a modified sugar cookie).
Nuts have the top calorie to weight ratio as compared to just about any other food item. Pack a join pounds of trail mix to keep your vigor high.
Freeze Dried foods are good but very expensive. Commonly soup mixes, rice, and pasta have close to the same calorie to weight ratio and are much cheaper.
There are two other major areas of your bug out bag, safety and construction camp. While you can survive with the items above there are many more things that will help you live longer.
