Those straps known to be made of purely rubber including the covering do stretch at least four times its original length.
In bungee straps they use hooks which have been covered with rubber for safety to hold on the straps properly while they are being used. This reduces cases of making notes on the straps in order to fasten them and is just another way to ensure safety when using them.
When buying bungee straps they are bought according to their size, the sizes are specified since each size is meant to do a specific job. The activities range from keeping luggage to the top of the roof of a car to engaging in different sports. This will ensure even after it has lost its elasticity, its still in an operational mode and able to perform the way it should properly.
